Well invested 2-3 h tour, you will have a good understanding of the fascinating history of the capital of Zanzibar and its important historical areas, buildings and sites. You will notice how Zanzibar’s cosmopolitan roots ( arabs, indians,Yemenis, Persian, portuguese, etc etc ) blend with african traditions to shape its unique swahili culture.Listed since 2000 as a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE , you will understand why by getting lost in its alleys. Our English speaking guide will start the tour with the site of the old slave market and the anglican cathedral, the tour continues with a visit to the colorful stone town main market in Darajani, which is fullof locals selling fresh vegetables and basket of tropical fruits, meat and fish.Fromm here, we will then visit the other historic place during the sultana of Zanzibar , the old fort , Freddy mercury house and many buildings which reflect the variety of cultural influences.There are distinctivefeatures of Arab and Indian urban architecture to be discovered at every turn.
